Martha Eason is a member of the ensemble at the Oldenburgisches Staatstheater. She has recently performed as a guest at the Opera Comiqué in Paris, Komische Oper Berlin, and Oper Leipzig.

Soprano Martha Eason recently made her company debut on tour with the Komische Oper Berlin in November 2017 as Papagena at the Opéra-Comique Paris in Barrie Kosky's brilliantly staged Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte. She returned to the Komische Oper Berlin in April 2018, where she appeared as Berta in Il barbiere di Siviglia, a role that she will again be performing this 2018-19 season at Oper Leipzig. Martha was recently seen in the role of Bellezza in Kiez Oper’s unique production of Händel’s Il Trionfo del Tempo e del Disinganno in Berlin. For the 2018-19 season, she is engaged in the ensemble of the Oldenburgisches Staatstheater where she will be performing the roles of Eurydice in Offenbach's Orpheus in der Unterwelt, Gilda in Verdi's Rigoletto, in Hänsel und Gretel as Gretel, Sandmännchen und Taumännchen, and as Kitty Hart in Jake Heggie's Dead Man Walking. Martha will also be performing the role of Blondchen in Mozart's Die Entführung aus dem Serail with Theater Münster.
Based in Europe since 2017, Martha made her role debut as Zerbinetta in Richard Strauss' Ariadne auf Naxos with the Berlin Opera Group. She covered the role of Ophelia in the world premiere of Brett Dean's Hamlet at Glyndebourne, both in the summer 2017 festival and the fall touring production.The young soprano studied voice at the renowned Indiana University Jacobs School of Music and graduated in 2015. She also starred in a number of productions at the Indiana University Opera Theater, where her leading roles included Rosina in Rossini's Il Barbiere di Siviglia (2015), Kitty in Menotti's The Last Savage (2015), and Sophie in Massenet's Werther (2013). She was a 2015 member of the young artists program at Opera North in New Hampshire, where she performed the roles of Blonde in Mozart’s Die Entführung aus dem Serail and Beth in Copland’s The Tender Land. She returned to Opera North in 2016, when she was cast in the leading role of Marie in Donizetti's La fille du Régiment.
Martha has competed in several singing competitions and was a finalist in the The Brava! James Collier Competition in San Francisco, a regional semi-finalist in the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions, as well as a semi-finalist in the Washington International Competition in 2016. This year, she was one of the 12 finalists in the Meistersinger Competition in Nürnburg.
